MLase is founded in 2007 with a starting team of 10 employees.
First certification of MLase’s quality management system under ISO 13485.
Already a few years after foundation, MLase produces 100 lasers in just one year.
Within the next six years MLase more than doubles its production volume to 250 lasers per year.
13 years after foundation MLase’s team already grows to 50 employees.
Maxburg Capital Partners acquired a majority stake in MLase. In partnership with the management, Maxburg supports the expansion of the product portfolio and foster the future growth of MLase.
Our founders and managing directors Markus Enders and Johannes Junger pass on the leadership of the company to Dirk Muehlhoff. They will continue to serve the company as advisors.
In February MLase received certification under the new European Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

Function: Managing Director
Dirk, a graduate physicist with an MBA in business management / general management, has extensive experience in medical technology, particularly in the field of ophthalmological applications. In leading positions at the renowned ZEISS Group, he has driven technological innovation and set the strategic course for the future. As Managing Director of MLase, he focuses on the further development of advanced laser technologies and the targeted expansion of the product portfolio. His focus is on strategic expansion and strengthening our international market position.
Function: Head of Finance & Administration
As commercial manager, Sabine is responsible for finance, human resources and order processing. With almost 20 years of experience in management positions in medium-sized companies, she brings with her sound specialist knowledge and distinctive expertise in the organization of complex business processes.
Her comprehensive understanding of commercial strategies and her ability to implement effective measures to optimize company processes make her a decisive force in our team.
Function: Head of Sales & Marketing
Peter brings international experience from senior sales positions in the USA and Germany. At MLase, he focuses on the strategic expansion of market development and the advancement of our sales structures. With his expertise in technical sales and his background in business law, he supports the company’s sustainable growth.
Function: Head of QM & Regulatory Affairs
Anika holds a degree in biomedical engineering and has over 10 years of expertise in quality management and regulatory affairs.
As an expert for certifications and audits, especially for ISO 13485, she ensures that our quality management system meets the highest standards. Anika is also responsible for and manages approvals in new countries, making a decisive contribution to the continuous growth of our company.
Function: Head of Research & Development
Severin is an engineer and brings valuable experience from previous management positions, which he has gained in both corporate and medium-sized companies. With his extensive project experience, he significantly strengthens our team.
As Head of Research and Development, he is highly committed to our projects. He also uses his experience to help establish and expand project management at MLase. His strategic foresight and expertise contribute significantly to the continuous development of the company.
Function: Head of Purchasing
Tobias has many years of experience in senior purchasing roles in electronics manufacturing and in the procurement of mechanical components, both in corporate structures and in medium-sized companies. As Head of Purchasing, he is responsible for the strategic management and further development of procurement processes. With his in-depth understanding of the market and suppliers, he ensures efficient, quality-oriented and cost-effective material supply.
Function: Head of Manufacturing Engineering
Janosch is an experienced engineer and has been with MLase for many years. He joined MLase straight after completing his studies and has since made a significant contribution to the further development of our manufacturing processes.
With his experience and technical know-how, he increases efficiency and innovation in our production. Janosch works closely with customers and suppliers to ensure that our processes are always state of the art.
He oversees the implementation of new technologies and continuously optimizes existing processes.
Function: Head of Software & IT
After completing his studies, Leif initially gained some experience in a corporate environment before joining our team.
For many years, he has used his extensive knowledge to ensure that our IT infrastructure runs smoothly and is responsible for the application applications of our excimer lasers. With his expertise, Leif makes a significant contribution to the optimization and further development of our IT systems.
Function: Head of Production
Ralf is an industrial foreman and one of our longest-serving employees. Since the company was founded, he has played a key role in the development and continuous expansion of our production department.
With his commitment and extensive experience, he continuously optimizes our production processes and ensures maximum efficiency. Under his leadership, his team is characterized by remarkable stability and cultural diversity.
Function: Head of the office & cuddling officer
Fluff is our head fluffy and secret boss in the office. Having arrived in picturesque Bavaria from Asia as a puppy, she has us all under control – even the management bows to her fluffy charm.
Fluff brings international flair and an inexhaustible amount of good humor to our everyday lives. With her second home in Lower Franconia, she knows exactly how to perfectly combine Franconian bratwurst and Asian chicken – but you can bribe her with any treat. Our office runs like clockwork thanks to Fluff, because who could resist a dog that is not only irresistibly cute, but also has the perfect “I’m-cute-and-know-it” look?
Her tireless efforts to get cuddles and snacks ensure that the mood is always great here. So, if you come to visit us, don’t forget: the real boss has four paws, a fluffy coat and snores quietly under the conference table.
Our 4,600 m² facility in Germering, Germany, is designed for scalable production. We can reliably meet industrial OEM requirements in both small and large batch sizes. This capability has earned the trust of numerous OEM partners in the medical sector, delivering volumes ranging from several dozen to several hundred units per year.
